General Notes

Note

Notes: In 1892, the Dade County government built a road from Lantana to Lemon City (north Miami). It was decided that the New River was too deep and wide to bridge, so a ferry crossing was established at Tarpon Bend. The ferry service and the accompanying overnight camp was operated by Frank Stranahan.
