Digital image only; from modern reproduction print, 8" x 10" wide, apparently made from print in album 2012.017.0001. Reverse has clipped photocopy of text typewritten on the reverse of the linen mount of album print.
This image is from the personal papers of John C. McEnroe who was the Secretary of the New Jersey Interstate Bridge and Tunnel Commission. It was the New Jersey authority cooperating with a New York Commission for overseeing the project. He died on June 2, 1925. Print was an enclosure in a photograph album, photo catalog 2012.017.0001 where an original exists.

1924, New York.
Photograph showing the material which had flowed in the south tunnel Just behind
the shield during the flooding of the tunnel. The picture was taken after the
water had been pumped from the tunnel. Booth & Flinn, Ltd. Contractors. Camera
was set up on a low platform on the south side of the tunnel at Ring 542, facing
west, air pressure 29 lbs.
