Description
Black-and-white photo of Lincoln Tunnel plaza New Jersey portals, Weehawken, no date, probably early 1958.
8" x 10" wide print. Photographer not indicated; source: Culver Pictures, Inc.(inkstamp on rear plus printed label.)
Caption below image:
Third Tube portal (right) is adjacent to those of original twin-tube facility on greatly expanded New Jersey Lincoln Tunnel Plaza.
[end]
The third tube opened May 25, 1957. Note the right tube has two trucks near the entrance; traffic does not appear to go through it (the car carrier is parked.) Also note trees do not have foliage. This suggests that the photo was taken late winter or early spring of 1958.
