The photo was taken south of the Hoboken city line in Jersey City.The pilings seen in the river are probably the remains of former piers of the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad, then known as the Erie Lackawanna; also possibly part of the Erie Railroad's former freight operations. While not a Hoboken vista, it is typical of similar views seen by Hoboken residents.
