Black-and-white photo of Reverend Father Brennan; flag raising ceremony on 100 block of Willow Avenue, Hoboken, August 1942. Original print, 3-3/4" wide x 4-3/4" high. Photographer not indicated, presumably a member of the Craig family. Reverse has penciled notes as captioned.
The Reverend is speaking from platform decorated with patriotic bunting with the building behind also decorated. The event was on the street in front of an italian and french bakery at 122 Willow Ave. The event is not described in greater detail, but it is likely to be service flags that commemorated Hoboken armed forces members. The photo is from Henrietta Craig, daughter of Joseph M. Craig and niece of Edward Craig of 409 Washington Street, both of whom were serving in the military.
