Black-and-white photo of the 700 block of Grand Street looking north with debris in the foreground on the west side of the street., Hoboken, no date, ca. 1970-1975. 3-1/2" x 5" high print. Photographer not indicated, probably Helen Manogue or family member. Reverse has holographic ink notation: # 18, Willow + 7th.
View is north - northeast. Although inscribed as Willow and Seventh, the view does not correspond to that location. The sign seen to the left at mid-block appears to be Ann's Lunch which was located at 716 Grand St.
From a series of 20 images of Hoboken scenes taken as part of documentation for the Hoboken Environment Committee and used for promotion of a program called "Care Dammit! I Do. Sweep Up, Clean Up, Shape Up Hoboken." The prints were numbered 1 to 20 (matching the 35mm negative numbers) with print no. 19 missing. That print has been replaced by a digital print from the negatives. Series is in photo catalogue 2006.042.0120 to .0139.
