Description

Dairy bottle: The Peerless Dairy. Hoboken, N.J. One Pint. No date, circa 1904-1924. Clear mold blown glass bottle, 3-1/16" diameter x 7-3/16" high. Embossed lettering and "P" logo on front only. This company has not been found in typical directories and no information about it has been located. This size container may have been used for milk or cream. Manufactured by Thatcher (Glass) Manufacturing Co. with the base marked on a horizontal line: T. MFG. CO. No date code. See PDF attached with 2007 article about markings of this company. The date of this bottle is suggested by the maker's mark, but the antiquated, fancy 'P' suggests it was nearer the early date, but the date range stated here is not definitive.
