Description
Tootsie Rolls, 120 count, retailer packaging. Issued by Sweets Company of America, Hoboken, N.J., no date, circa 1940-1950. Two piece box, card stock, printed in brown ink, 6-3/4" square x 1-5/8" high.
No date or form code is found; priced on box as 1 cent (retail price); bottom has blue ink-stamped number: 8351548. It is presumed to be a production code, possibly a batch number or order number.
The box top has promotional copy addressed to "Mr. Retailer." The direction of the edge printing makes it obvious that the top was intended to be inverted and used as a display box as the bottom tray was also intended to be used.
