This document is a preliminary report on the papers with 500 entries, index and bibliography. The letters and documents in this volume are arranged chronologically from 1673 to 1867 followed by 12 undated ones.
The catalogue was a Work Projects Administration effort begun in 1936. The project was expected to be completed in five or six volumes. See library 2007.002.0003 for volume one, 1664-1750, published in December 1940.
