Carte-de-visite of a young boy with a hoop posed in photographer's studio, Hoboken, no date, circa 1870s-1887.
Sepia tone photographic print on 2-1/2" wide x 4" high mount. Photography by Louis Nagel, 192 Washington St. (old number - later 508 Washington St.), Hoboken, N.J. as imprinted on back of mount.
Boy, ca. 4-5 years old, is not identified. The hoop or ring was a typical play toy of the period. Research into detail of fashion and clothing may help to narrow the date this photograph was taken.
