Certificate of Membership, Church Debt Society of the Church of Our Lady of Grace, Hoboken, N.J., 1882. Printed leaf, 3" wide x 4-5/8" high. This copy is dated 1882 with a penciled "2" over the "1" in the printed date of 1881. Presumably it was surplus from the 1881 edition.
The certificate was for a monthly contribution of ten cents or larger. The holder of the ticket was a member for one month Also, if the certificate was used it was to be stamped with the seal of the church; both are blind stamped. See 2007.047.0002 and .0003 for differing examples from 1880 and 1881.
Society organized at the request of Bishop Corrigan who is also listed at the bottom: P. Corrigan, Pastor, 170 Willow St., Hoboken.
