Description
Color photograph of Hoboken residents gathered near 59 Washington Street, probable news conference after Hurricane Sandy, Hoboken, ca. Oct. 31, 2012.
Digital image only. Photograph taken by Dennis English.
A FEMA - State Disaster Recovery Center vehicle is parked outside the empty storefront south of an Office Depot store at 59 Washington St. The empty storefront would become a FEMA disaster recovery center for circa two months. (Note: a large tent was erected in the parking lot out-of-view to the right which was a 24/7 warming center provided by PSE&G with food, refreshments and personnel for assistance as well as some desks for other help; phones and charging stations were also available.)
