Commemorative medal: The Holland Tunnel; To Commemorate the Opening of The Holland Tunnel November 12th 1927.
Bronze (stamped on bottom edge), 1-15/16" (50mm) diameter.
Made by Tiffany & Co. The bronze version of the medallion is the more common of the two issues; a number were made in gold for dignitaries.
The November 12th date was the day of ceremonies for the Tunnel. It actually opened for traffic at midnight of Nov. 13, 1927.
