The view is looking west - northwest. Hoboken up to a portion of Second Street is seen at the right. The Hudson River is at the bottom with the Erie-Lackawanna Terminal in Hoboken to the bottom right. Note car float barges moored in the former ferry slips. Helping to date the image is the Shop-Rite supermarket building at the southeast corner of Newark and Washington Streets. Also note the cleared land on both sides of Hudson Street north of First Street.
