Description
Digital image of B+W negative image of Julius & Anthony Durstewitz (Senior) and seven women (family?) on a roof, Hoboken. no date, circa 1938-1940. Original image was ca. 4-1/2" wide x 2-3/4" high. Black-and-white 70 mm nitrate negative. Photographer not indicated. Location is not identified.
Julius is standing third from the left. Anthony is in a U.S. Army uniform. The women are not identified. The roof is probably part of the Recreation Center (of which Julius was the director) at 113 Jefferson Street which opened in 1938. The upper coursework, molding and pipe railing seem to relate to the building seen in 2005.078.0534. This would make the view looking west.
