Description
Digital image of photo of two men in suits on a raised wooden platform, one with a megaphone, with an audience in stands behind them, no place (possibly Hoboken), no date, circa 1915-1920. Original image was ca. 3" wide x 5" high. Photographer not indicated. People are not identified. Location is not identified.
Relation to Julius Durstewitz is not known. The sports or play ground fields as well as the activitiy that is going on is not identified. Presumably the man with the megaphone is an announcer or master of ceremonies. Note the large cards on the floor in front of them. From the number of straw boaters that can be seen, it appears the large majority of attendees were men.
Detail of image found top left on recto (image 1 of 5) of leaf 24 of Julius & Marie Durstewitz album, see primary record 2005.078.0100 for a description of the album and provenance. Note the verso of leaf twenty-four is blank. See related.
