Digital image of sepia-tone photographic postcard view of 4th Street Park (Church Square), Hoboken, no date, ca. 1900. Original image 3-7/16" wide x 5-7/16" high. Printed postcard back. Photographer indicated as John Schilling. Holographic ink note on image (fountain pen or similar): "4 St. Park." Holographic ink note (ballpoint) on reverse: "4th Street Park taken just before dusk by John Schilling."
Although not stated as Church Square Park, the houses in the background correspond to similar ones near this park and the maturity of the trees make it more likely that it is Church Square rather than Hudson Square Park which was also on 4th Street.
This winter time view shows trees with ice coated branches.
