Description
Earrings, pair, "Good to the Last Drop" coffee cup symbol of Maxwell House Coffee. Issued by the Maxwell House Coffee Division, General Foods Corporation?, no place (possibly Hoboken), no date, circa 1950-1970. Stamped and painted metal (white metal? plated), 15/16" high x 3/8" wide; clasp back. No maker's marks or hallmarks.
Cup painted in white with blue band; drop with red detail.
Original purpose of this pair is undetermined at present: possibly a gift premium in a promotional campaign (e.g. xx proof of purchases redeemed for the 'gift') or a present to employees or wives of executives at a banquet. The low quality of the items (i.e. not gold or silver) suggests these were probably for mass distribution.
