Scope and Content
4th [Fourth] of July Celebration, Hoboken, N.J. 1912. Fascimile (color photocopy) of a real photo postcard, circa 3-1/2" x 5-1/2" wide. None of the people seen are identified. Enlarged reference copy print on file. Tiff media archive.
Photograph is of a parade float being a dump truck of the Jagels & Bellis Coal Co., Fourteenth St., Hoboken. The truck is full of young women or girls waving American flags. The street appears to be Washington Street possibly at Eleventh Street. If so the view is of the northeast corner of Washington and Eleventh St. which is consistent with the sunlight direction.
As is typical, the caption is at the bottom and the photographer/issuer is not indicated or known. Source of original is not indicated or known.
