Hudson & Manhattan Railroad Company Local Service, Train Records. June 1922 to May 1924. Bound ledger ca. 13--3/4" high x 19" wide x 1-1/4" thick with custom printed columnar form leaves (no form number as in other books); 100 leaves (200 pages.)
Entries, pencil and ink, by one month per line (called "Division" in previous books; a specific route such as "Hoboken - 33rd St.") Data was then recorded on it by date for the number of trains, total number of cars and monthly totals. It does not record times such as departure, arrival or length of trip although there are hand titled columns "Switching" and "Collections" which have hours and minutes in the columns. It does not include any financial information. It also does not state where this information was tallied.
Some pages devoted to deadhead movements of "Class D & P.R.R. (Pennsylvania Railroad) cars" along with some Branch Services.
Remarks at the bottom of leaves include schedule notes and changes including holidays, problems, P.R.R. (Pennsylvania Railroad) activity along with some Branch Services movements.
Binding is a canvas cover over boards with cover title printed on cloth. Title is "Hudson & Manhattan Railroad, Local Service - Train Record."
Sheets measure 13" high x 18" wide.
