Description
Photos, two, of painted sign, Boot Black Parlor Shoe Polish 5 cents [cent symbol], on wall at 519 Adams St., Hoboken, taken April 14, 2008. 8" x 10" digital prints. Photographs by Robert Foster.
Original business is not known or the date when painted on the building - likely on the building from circa 1920 or earlier. Considered as a ghost sign.
Sign on the south side of 519 was briefly seen when partial demolition of 517 Adams was underway. Building was fully demolished. A new building was erected which covered the sign and thus it is no longer visible.
