Description
Postcard: Burial of Seventy-six Hoboken Fire Victims at Flower Hill. Copyright 1900, Arthur Strauss, Inc. Publishers, New York. No. 113. Postal card; Private Mailing Card. Undivided back, 3-1/4" x 5-1/2" wide; unused and unposted.
Artist's (Friederang) depiction of funeral services at Flower Hill Cemetery in North Bergen, New Jersey circa early July 1900 (fire was the 1900 pier fire on June 30th - July 1st.) Many fire victims were buried there including a large group in a mass grave. It is likely that this card relates to that group.
