View is east with Hudson Square Park in the left foreground; River Road wraps around the park. An ocean liner is seen approaching Pier 5 at the left and it was likely a Holland America Line vessel. To the right of that pier along the shore are several of the clubhouses for the popular boating and rowing clubs of that era.
