Postcard: No. 23 - Loop from 14th Street Ferry to West Hoboken, N.J. Postmarked Hoboken, February 28, 1906. 3-1/2" high x 5-1/2" wide. Undivided back.

View northeast from about 14th Street viaduct and Palisade Ave. of the streetcar (trolley) loop.
Person sending the postcard, a George Head of Hoboken, marked the photo with location of the Electrolian Organ Company at 15th and Adams Streets, Hoboken. He appeared to be using the card to promote the company and set-up a sales call with a New York client.
----
In May 2013, Jim Lewis sent this information by email about Head and the addressee, Basil Austin:
George Head was employed as a decorator at the Electrolian Co. a position in which he "decorated" or stenciled painted the display pipes of organs. Basil Austin was owner of the Austin Organ Co., Hartford, Conn.
I would not be surprised if Head was writing to Austin concerning a job, as at the time the card was written, the Electrolian Co. was in very bad shape and would soon go out of business. Head eventually returned to Los Angeles where had been previously employed.
