Printed color aerial photo of the Holland-America Line, Fifth Street Pier, Hoboken, 1957. Digital image only. original circa 7" x 10"; photographer not indicated.
Image was a published leaf of a 1957 wall calendar (back is imprinted with April 1957.) It has the dates "1951-1952" written the back with a red china marker.
It shows two Holland-America ocean liners (one being docked with a tugboat.) View is northwest. The Red Star Line Sixth Street Pier is seen along with a Hoboken Dock Stores Co. warehouse, Stevens Institute of Technology and part of Hudson Square or Stevens Park. Note the area where the Little League field is at present appears to not yet have taken the form that is would with home base near Fifth Street. This would indicate that the photograph is earlier than 1956, and probably near the 1951-1952 date that was written on the back of the leaf.
