Quilt made for U.S. Bicentennial celebration in Hoboken, N.J., Hoboken, 1976. Blue velveteen fabric with appilques of printed fabric depicting the flags of all fifty states and an official flag of the Bicentennial with its logo. Circa 8 feet high x 12 feet wide.
Maker or makers (and the sponsor such as a specific organization like the Hoboken Bicentennial Commission) are not indicated or researched at this time. Although called a quilt, it does not have a backing or any fill. It might more properly be considered a wall hanging. Quilt applies more to the general style.
