Scope and Content

Bowling Alley & Billiard Salon [sic - Saloon] Receipts. City of Hoboken, City Clerk's Office, for 1922. All were for billiard (pool or pool table) licenses except for numbers 29, 61 and 68 for bowling alleys. Full text is in notes. A bound volume of receipts for a license fee paid accompanying a license application. (The license itself was a separate form and that record form book for this year is unlocated.) Each page has a two part form: receipt and recording stub, two to a page. The volume starts with No. 26 and runs to No. 69; rest of the volume is unused. All were issued in 1922 except the last one which was Jan. 2, 1923. Record book is three quarter dark blue leather with black cloth, 13" x 13" x 5/8"; inset red leather cover label gilt titled. Spine missing.
