Description
Record: New York Shakespeare Festival [NYSF] presents Hair: An American Tribal Love-Rock Musical. The original cast recording. RCA, New York, no date, circa 1970. RCA PRS-319. 12" 33 rpm record. Copy 1; with album sleeve. See 2007.012.0044.01 for a user copy, copy 2 (album sleeve is taped.)
This recording of the off-Broadway version that preceded the Broadway production is not dated, but while apparently recorded ca. late 1967, it appears to have been released two years after the Broadway cast album was released thus the "special collector's edition."
Two copies; copy 2 is a user copy (album sleeve is taped.)
Hoboken residents Gerome Ragni and James Rado wrote the book and lyrics plus Ragni appeared in the production and is on this recording as a performer. Both appear on the album front as the two non-Native Americans.
