Sepia tone photo: New Jersey State League of Journeymen Plumbers, Steamfitters, Steamfitters Helpers. Held at Hoboken, N. J. Sunday, July 16th, 1916. Photo by Magnus.
7-1/2" high x 9-3/4" wide print mounted on embossed mounting board, 12" x 14"; printed paper label, 1-1/4" x 9-1/4" wide, with title as above applied to bottom of print. Photograph taken by Magnus (whether Conrad or his son Rudolf is not indicated, but attributed to Conrad at present). Reverse of mount blank.
The thirty-three men are posed on the front steps of building on the campus of Stevens Institute of Technology (see left detail of a Class of 1876 memorial stone). They are all in suits, with either neckties or bowties; straw hats (boaters). Two American flags are held by the front row.
None of the subjects have been identified. The group was a union organization affiliated with the United Association. Whether a general convention or a meeting of leaders froms locals is not indicated.
Note that the printed label carries a union print shop logo at the right.
