Description
Sepia-tone photograph of a young girl holding flag on stick standing on front steps of apartment building, Hoboken? No date, circa 1910s or 1920s.
Print: 3-13/16" wide x 5-11/16" high; mount 4-3/16" x 6-3/8" high, beveled edges, rounded corners (mount is the size of a cabinet photograph and could be considered as such.) Photographer not indicated. Reverse is blank.
The unidentified miss is nicely dressed, but appears unhappy with a slight scowl or perhaps tired. While the location is not given, based on information from the photo's source that stated it was found in an album with Hoboken images and thus is tentatively attributed as a Hoboken scene. The stoop, railing and fence are consistent with those found in Hoboken.
Apparently the child was participating in some patriotic holiday activity or event.
