Sepia-tone photo of an office or waiting room of the Hoboken Bank for Savings, Hoboken, no date, ca. 1890. 9" high x 9-1/2" wide on 12" x 14" photographers mount. Photographer was Frank P. Jewett of Orange, N.J. The back has photographer's rubber stamp.
The view through the window suggests this room was facing east and on the 1st floor. It was probably taken shortly after the building was completed.
The bank was established in 1857, but the building that this photo was taken in was built in 1890. It is at the southwest corner of Washington and Newark Sts.
