Description
Sepia-tone photo of bread baking ovens at John Schmalz's Sons' Model Bakery, Hoboken, no date, ca. 1910-15. 7-3/4" x 9-3/4" wide. Photographer not indicated. Reverse is blank.
One of seven undated photos, all in the same size and apparently taken around the same time (see related), with differing views of the bakery operations.
The building interior seen here is probably the fireproof building that replaced the one at the same location that burned down in 1909. The bakery buildings encompassed the block along the south side of Eighth Street between Grand and Clinton Streets.
