Handwritten letter from Eva Ballin to "Mrs. Richards & Doctor", dated 9 April 1940. Eva is in Newnham, Cambridge. The stationery is pale green with an image in the upper left corner of a British policeman stopping traffic, his arms held outstretched at shoulder height, allowing a schoolboy and a girl in an orange dress to cross. The edges of the paper are scalloped and trimmed in black ink. Eva expresses condolences about a car accident the Richards had and, on the back of the page, she has drawn a picture of the crash as she understands it.
