Scope and Content

Discharge paper from the military hospital Maillot for Ernest Brod after he was wounded on May 8th, 1943 in Tunisia. It appears that Ernest Brod was an adopted name for Erwin Fuchs, a practice common in the French Foreign Legion during WWII designed to protect legionnaires fleeing German-occupied territories or fighting on behalf of the Free French. The document is a carbon copy form with additional purple typing on one quarter. Details concerning the patient are handwritten in ink. There are two circular red stamps, one above the other, in bottom left quadrant. A current monthly rate is given on the back. It appears that holes were punched in the left margin for placement in a ring binder.
