Sepia-toned copy of a photo of a large group of WWI soldiers lined up in front of a monument; those in the front row are wearing dress uniforms with white pants, boots extending above their knees, gloves, & sashes, and about half are holding large flags whose poles are twice the height of the soldiers themselves. Handwritten note associated with photo identifies Ludwig Ballin, Eva Ballin Ansell's father, as the eighth head from right in dress uniform.
