Description

Color: Brown; Red "China for Decorating," issued by Cooley's Inc., Fall 1925 - Spring 1926. The 55-page catalog has a brown paper cover with a border on the front cover. At the top is the name and location of the company as well as the catalog number. At the right of the center is the title and below this is, "COOLEY'S / GOLDS / COLORS / LUSTRES / KERAMIC KILNS / PAINTING / MATERIALS." At the left is a drawing of a four-story brick building with several people at the front. All of the printing on the cover is in red ink. At the beginning of the inside is a notice, directions for ordering, and an index. There are a variety of china products available including vases; jars; tea sets; sugar and cream sets; jugs and mugs; dishware; bowls; multi-purpose dishes; trays; baskets; platters; salt and pepper shakers; condiment sets; open work and pierced pieces; candlesticks; smokers' articles; flower holders and wooden stands; kilns; and ceramic art equipment and supplies. At the back is a list of powdered and dry paints available. Also included are many black and white line-drawings. With creases on the corners; some foxing; surface soiling; stains; and two small tears, the artifact is in fair condition.
