Description

"1227 -- Summer Girls and Summer Flowers -- Carnival, Los Angeles, Cal.," published by The Whiting View Company, Cincinnati, ca. 1900s. The image shows four women in white dresses and holding white parasols riding in a flower-decorated buffy or cart drawn by a single white horse. Behind the group is a large grandstand on which there are people seated, almost certainly to watch the parade. It is assumed the event was the La Fiesta de Los Angeles. The caption is at the bottom right and the series name "Twentieth Century Series" is at the right, while the publisher's name and city are at the left. With stains, slight mount curvature, and soiling, the overall condition is good.
