In the square are dozens of persons, many or most with black robes and turbans. At the far right many persons are sitting in front of a building and there appears to be military personnel patrolling there. In the background is a hilly area with buildings, although this area is faded. At the time, the town was part of the Ottoman Empire. With heavy soiling, edge rubbing, and curvature of the mount, the condition is fair.
