Description

"149. County Court House, Los Angeles, Cal.," C. B. Waite, ca. 1890s. The image is taken from another structure cater-corner to the large Richardsonian Romanesque style structure, completed in 1889. Also of note is the wind corner steps leading from the intersection to the courthouse and portions of surrounding streets (with streetcard, pedestrians and horse-drawn vehicles) and other buildings. "#151. Main St. North From Post Office, Los Angeles, Cal.," C. B. Waite, ca. 1890s. On the reverse of the above photo, the view is taken from the street and shows trees on the west side and portions of several multi-story structures on the east, including a church. There are a few horse-drawn conveyances further down the street and a pedestrian or two. In both cases, there is some light soiling and minimal edge rubbing and the condition is good.
