Description
A lantern slide "158 - Walnuts 2 (7) Shelling [and?] picking walnuts by hand, El Monte, Cal," 1920s. There are two women and two girls seated on the ground working with piles of recently picked nuts amidst a large orchard with rows of wide-spreading trees. There are identifying labels and one from the Chicago Public Schools Bureau of Visual Instruction. With a tear in this latter label and some soiling and rubbing, the overall condition is good.
