Description

Color: Black; Brown "Spanish Highways and Byways," by Katherine Lee Bates, (New York: Chautauqua Press, 1920) 448 pp. The book has a brown hardcover with a double-line border on the front. At the center of the top is the title with the name of the author below this. At the center of the bottom is, "CHAUTAUQUA / HOME READING SERIES." This is also on the bottom of the spine with the title and author's name at the top. All of the lettering on the cover and spine is in black. Written in pencil on the center of the front flysheet is, "Katherine Lyman Boekin / 1920 - 21." At the beginning is a title page, preface, table of contents, and list of illustrations. The work is a record of travels in Spain and includes 27 chapters with such titles as, "Within the Alhambra," "Gypsies," and "Choral Games of Spanish Children." Many black and white photographs are also included. With only minor abrasions at the spine and corners, the object is in good condition.
