The wooden pavilion is at left of center, the pier above that and to the right, with the larger hotels of the time across from the pier. In the lower right is an 1880s home that still stands. A steamship also is in the water approaching the pier. Some tents and dwellings are scattered about, including at the lower hills on both sides of town. The caption is at the bottom. With some creases and edge wear to the image, as well as edge wear to the mount, the overall condition is good.
