Description
"22078 CALIFORNIA SHERIFF SEIZES NAPOLEON'S SILVERWARE," Acme Newspictures, 16 March 1926. The press photo shows a woman holding a goblet or container with a monogrammed "N" on a side panel. Information typed and pasted onto the reverse gives details of the seizure by Sheriff William Traeger of items once owned by Napoleon Bonaparte and unpaid by Charles Canfield, developer with Edward Doheny of the first oil wells in the city of Los Angeles. There is a stamp for the press agency and a stamp with the date. With a dogeared corner and slight soiling, the condition is good overall.
