Description

PHOTOGRAPHS, "256. LOS ANGELES, SO. FROM 3RD ST. HILL," by Frank L. Park, Los Angeles, ca. 1898. The view is from the area at or near Grand Avenue looking east as Third Street extends into downtown. A mix of commercial buildings, churches, and residences are noted. Some buildings have signs to identify them. On Third Street are some horse-drawn conveyances, a streetcar, and pedestrians. In the distance is Boyle Heights and points east. The caption is in white on the bottom edge of the image, whjich is mounted on green board. The photo has minor scratches and stains and part of the left corner is dented, while the board has minor wear, so the overall condition is good.
