Description

"2983 Spring Street, Los Angeles, California," ca. 1900. The view appears to be taken from Fourth Street looking north. Down the street are two streetcars on a pair of tracks in the middle of the thoroughfare. A horse-drawn conveyance moves closer to the photographer, while other vehicles are parked along the street. Pedestrians are on the sidewalks and there is a bicyclist heading north, as well. Among the buildings are two to eleven story commercial structures, including Barker Brothers furniture store, Scott Brothers, the Hotel Angelus, and the Commercial National Bank. The number and title of the imager are on an ink inscription on the reverse. With tape-backed creases at two corners, soiling, and rubbing, the overall condition is good.
