"304. East Avalon Catalina, Cal.," unattributed, ca. 1890s. The image, mounted later onto a matte, is taken from the street at the waterfront of Avalon's small harbor and looks to the hills on the east side of town. At left, near the water's edge, are some small rowboats and stands for renting them. In the background at street level is a three-story house with adjacent outbuilding. Perched ujp on the hill is "Holly Hill House" which is extant. With some stains, abrasions, and edge wear to the image, the overall condition is good.
