"3046. High School, Los Angeles," by Payne, Stanton & Co., ca. 1882. The view appears to be taken from the vicinity of the Temple Block from Spring Street looking through and over some commercial structures, partially visible in the foreground, toward Fort Moore Hill and the Italianate school house. Notable are the recently-installed steps leading to the school from the bottom of the hill. With some significant curvature of the mount, soiling and stains, and edge rubbing, the overall condition is fair.Lexicon
