Description

"3727 Burning Oil Tank, Los Angeles, Cal.," published by C. H. Graves, ca. 1900. The image, sold by The Universal Photo Art Company, shows an enormous dark black cloud of smoke billowing from the scene and, at left, there appears to be streams of water poured upon the fire. A few structures appear to be in view, a few persons in the foreground, and low hills in the distance. On the reverse is a stamp with the word "Bertrice" and an ink inscription of "Pearl Edwina Brown." With mount curvature, edge rubbing, corner dents, and some extensive soiling off image, the overall condition is good.
