A black and white stereoscopic photograph, "8027. California Lemon and Orange Exhibit, Horticultural Hall, Columbian Exposition," Benjamin W. Kilburn, 1893. The exhibit is filled with citrus fruit, with a pyramid of fruit and plant material at the center and a large sign reading "California." on the rear wall. Placards in the foreground identify products of San Bernardino County, while the pyramid is made of fruit from Los Angeles County. Two orange trees in boxes are also in view. The exposition commemorated the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' voyage to the Americas. The event was held in Chicago from 1 May to 30 October. With heavy fading, some stains, soiling and abrasions, the condition is fair to poor.Lexicon
