"San Gabriel Dam Project, No. 12," Ernest B. Gray, 11 June 1929. The view is taken from the bottom of San Gabriel Canyon near the river bed and looks towards the steep mountain sides, apparently to the east, where dirt and smoke rise from an area of demolition by crews from contractor Fisher, Ross, MacDonald and Kahn, Inc. The location is slightly south from that of No. 8. Identification by Gray, including a black ink line, is at the lower left of the photo, which needs flattening and has creases and light soiling, but is in good condition.
